Goodmorging, the alarm rang early today again. At 5 o'clock!!!
downstairs in the lobby a lot of 'sleeping' faces.
We would ride at 6, but we didn't make that. it was 06:30 when we drove away. I was steering the truck, Henk Kranendonk the chevy, with Martijn de Vries as co-pilot for the navigation.
The first 30 miles we dit by car, we couldn't ride the VeloSolexes on the highway.
After 50 minuten we arrived, the VeloSolexes were unloaded, and we could start 'tjoppen'.
At the first stop the comment of Martijn was 'This was flatted out, wasn't it?' Nobody knows what he meant with that.
After a few stops for gas and of cause the hills,
we lunched at Lake Arcadia.
After that we cheerfully 'tjopped on'. Then it happened. After almost 900 miles a local sheriff stopped us. 'quequeq, hot persuit'. Just like in the movies. After talking to this 'Roscoe P. Coltrane' we could carry on, but we had to "be carefull". ...Nice man!
We drove on to Oklahoma City rijden, according to the guys a unique experience. Long roads, a lot of trafficlights and a lot of wind blowing from the wrong side. And it also was hot they told me.
We found a hotel in El Reno. A good old Motel8. We had more of them.
Our great mechanics Harm and Frank did some repairs.
We had a little meeting about tomorrow: Eelco is driving the Chevy, Ernst is doing the navigation, and I drive the truck again.
