(By Robert Hof)
This morning we left at 9:30 from Gallup. The 'El Rancho' hotel was beautiful.
We went towards Holbrook.
From New Mexico to Arizona.
On the stateborder we had a coffee at a truckstop.
It was rather cold, and some bought gloves. It was around 37 F in the morning and it went up to 50 F later the day.
We drove through the National Park 'Petrified Forrest'.
In the 'Painted desert' ware a lot of hills, rocks.
At the visit at the souvenirshop I bought a t-shirt.
The petrified wood wasn't very special to me. Others were very impressed...
There were just 3 'drop-outs' today, so it was a rather good day.
Because of the wonderful navigation by Eddie Hartkamp we first stood at the wrong hotel in Holbrook. A tough hillclimb later we were at the right hotel.
Greetings Robert Hof.
