We had a marvelous day today, after 10 miles we got the first gravelpath. It was a piece of the route from 1931. ebben vandaag weer een grandiose dag beleefd, na 10 kilometer kregen we het eerste grindpad. Het was een route uit 1931. Straight through the woods. It was a rough ride.
We expected a lot of flat tires, but there were not many. Henk kranendonk was the first, but that wasn't in the woods. After a few hillclimbs through the woods we were forced to load everything in the cars, and drive back. Expecially for Martijn de Vries we started again with a hill....
After some peddling we ended up in Seligman. the owner of the local hamburgerjoint welcomed us. He has a Chevrolet from 1936 which could go up and down with the frontend.
After some shopping in Seligman we drove on.
A few hillclimbs and spectacular landscapes later we ended up in Truxton in a original route66 hotel. The hotel exists since 1950.
Unfortunately we had our first little accidend. Anke Lok 'kissed' the road.
Luckely she just had a soar knee and some scratches on her face and hands.
We hope she will drive with us today towards Las Vegas.
Greetings home from all of us.
