The daily report of our 'day off' in Las Vegas. (by Jeroen en Marije)
Day off? G%@#^$&#*$e, we worked our buts off. 20 VeloSolexers that had to drive over The Strip in Las Vegas. What a fantastic sight.
And we had to run for our lives with our camera's to record these 19 men and 1 woman in this amazing city, nothing is too weird.
Gamblers, drunks, cabdrivers, hookers, tourists, cops and other Americans look amazed to this group of 20 in long leather coats, 40 clogs, and the noise of 49 cc 2-stroke engines from the VeloSolexes.
Pictures are made, traffic holds, women leaf their child and pram behind, trafficlights sponaniously flip, Las Vegas goes nuts: The Tjoptjoppers are in town!
A few weeks with these guys is special.
Temperatures between -2 en + 45 Celsius, deserts, cities, villages which population doubles on arrival, long drives, overheated engins, lots of tabacco, sigarettes and beer, beer and beer, though guys (who lay cosy side by side in one bed at night), worn down clogs which are repaired with wooden boards bought at Wal-Mart, beautiful landscapes, long days, terrible food (hamburgers for breakfast, lunch and diner), and we haven't reached L.A. yet...
We, from 'Noordkaap TV Productions' enjoy ourselves very much with this group of though guys and girl, who will do everything to end the ride in L.A.
We do everything we can to make a beautiful televisionshow of everything that's happening!
To end some facts:
Horseracing is popular, expecially with Martijn.
Marco K. can not go to the Hooverdam by bus again.
Henk Piest is the clog-king of the States.
And no, you can not buy tabacco in America....
Greetings from Marije and Jeroen !!!!!
