(By Henk Hartkamp)
After everyone stopped gambling in Las Vegas, we had to wake up at 6, so we could drive again at 7. First in the cars, and back to the route66.
At was rather hot already.
The forecast for today is 100 miles straight ahead and a flattening landscape.
Due to the high temperatures of 104 F there were a few engine problems. After waiting for a few minutes they could go on.
The lanscsape of today: Sand and mountains far away.
We also see the Santa Fe Rail several times a day.
We wave to them and they honk back.
At 11:30 we where at the last gasstation before the Mojave desert. We got water there and ate ouw lunch. After that 59 miles of desert.
In those last 59 miles, the landscape was equal to what we saw the 34 miles before. We probable were in the desert already.
On the end we had two proper hillclimbs. The village we entered started with some burned down and empty houses. This Ludlow has a population of 28.
After performing some repairs we ate at local truckstop. Burgers again...
After a few beers I went to bed.
Greetings Henk Hartkamp.
